Wandsworth, London – Fireplace Garden
On meeting this client, they admitted that they rarely used their garden. We were determined to change that by incorporating lots of places to sit, relax, chat and meditate all immersed in beautiful planting. A key starting point for the design was the client’s need for a building or ‘cabin’. We collaborated with Hutsmith to install a stunning scorched larch cabin as a centrepiece for the garden. Tucked behind the cabin is a semi-enclosed dining area, adorned with a large mirror with planted shelves.
A separate lounging terrace is a perfect sun trap but doubles up as an evening entertaining space with the inclusion of a bespoke gas fireplace. To make sure the clients ventured outside in the mornings, we included a separate small terrace for an early coffee. We are delighted the entire family use the garden so regularly and have much enjoyed the space in its first year (2023).
